Episode 1: Equity, Storytelling, and the Power of Innovation with Paul Huang

In the first episode of Careers & Coffee Talk, I sit down with Paul Huang — someone who has dedicated his career to public service, leading large-scale programs that directly impact people’s lives. From disaster recovery to environmental protection to now shaping strategy in the private sector, Paul’s journey is packed with lessons about leadership, equity, and embracing change.

Paul recently joined OST as the Sector Vice President of their Federal Civilian business after serving as a Senior Executive at the Department of the Interior. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at FEMA, where he helped communities navigate some of their most challenging moments, including major disaster response and recovery efforts.

Over coffee, we chat about:

✔️ Leading with empathy
✔️ The power of storytelling
✔️ Taking risks and why it’s okay to not always have the answers
✔️ Building impact through human connection

Paul’s story is a great reminder that no matter where we are in our careers, there’s always room to grow, challenge the status quo, and make a difference.
